Interview With Angel Sharum!!

It's Wednesday of our week with Angel Sharum, and you know what that means?  It means it time for an...

Me:   I always ask: What are your must haves for a deep writing session? Music or silence, drink, snack, special pen, special knick knack, anything?

I don’t really need anything special to write. I write with the TV blaring away, people talking to me and playing on Facebook, but I’ve also written in total silence. When the mood to write strikes and a story is flowing, I just write.

Me:     If you hit writer's block, what do you do to help get over it?

I’ve never experienced long stretches of writers block. There’s so much inspiration out there that it’s hard to NOT be able to find something to write about. Just go for a walk and see what’s happening, people watch at the mall, or talk with friends. You’re sure to find something to write about. At least that’s the case with me.

Me:   At what age did you start dabbling in writing, and what inspired you to start?

I’ve only been writing for three and a half years, seriously anyway. I did write some poetry a few years before that but not much. I joined a writing forum on the advice of a friend and they were doing contests. I was scared to try, but all the members talked me into it and I found that I actually could put a story together that people enjoyed reading. I’ll never forget how it felt when people told me they liked my story. I haven’t stopped since.

Me:   From where do you draw inspiration for your writing now?

I’ve drawn inspiration from TV shows and commercials, family and friends, talking with my husband, people watching, and even once just from walking to the mailbox. More often than not, however, it’s just that I will think of something and have to write it down. I have a strange imagination and weird sense of humor so you never know what will show up in one of my stories.

Me:  Is there anything you want your fans to know, or just anything you'd like to say to them? As short or as long as you like!

Angel:   I would like for y’all to know that I’m really a nice
person. My stories are often dark and sinister, but I’m happy-go-lucky in real life, which seems strange to some people. I don’t understand myself why my mind runs to the dark side when writing stories. I do watch a lot of crime dramas on TV so maybe that has something to do with it, although all of my stories aren't like the shows.

I’ve written about serial killers, sure, but I’ve also written about evil ear wax removers, the birth of a baby causing the end of a world, child abuse, revenge, multiple personalities, and even fairy tales. Every now and then, just for kicks, I’ll write a “nice” story to throw people off. You gotta keep ‘em guessing you know.

Haha, you, my dear, are a most interesting and funny lady!  Thank you so much, Angel, for joining me!  Don't forget to check out the list of books including dear Ms. Sharum on Friday, along with the links to purchase them!

Love you all!

Now we begin the week of the Angel!

This week's featured author is Angel Sharum.  She is one of the sweetest ladies I've met, and I know you guys are going to love her!  So let's get to it and...

Angel Sharum is a Georgia Peach who sometimes writes stories that are rotten to the core. Never one to shy away from voicing her opinion, Angel found the perfect venue to share her thoughts when she started writing non-fiction articles for online publications. The success of her articles convinced her to try her hand at other forms of writing. Putting what friends and family called a vivid and sometimes twisted imagination to use, she began writing poetry and short fiction. It didn't take long for her to realize this was where her true passion lay. Writing short stories allows her to take readers on journeys of imagination that linger beyond “The End” and poetry offers a way for her to shake up people’s emotions and make them think. According to Angel, when she accomplishes her goals a truly special connection exists between her and her readers.

Want to connect with Angel?  Of course you do!  You know the drill, just click on your choice(s) below and it will magically whisk you away to the desired page:

My Interview with Ty Langston

You know what time it is, do I even need to say it?  Well, since I went to the trouble of making the pretty banner, I guess I'll go ahead say that it's time for the:

Me:  My usual question - What are your must-haves for a serious writing session?

Ty:  Water, sometimes chips or candy, but definitely I need some sort of music.  I use either Spotify (you can follow me as I create playlists for all of my stories there) or I go on itunes.  My headphones and a notebook are key also.  A notebook and pen to me are extensions of who I am, I'm lost without them.

Me: Lovely! I adore your books (as you well know haha), and am curious as to what has inspired some of the stories?

Ty: What inspires me?  It could be anything.  Sometimes it's a song, or other times it can be a photo or something an actor or another person may say on TV or on an interview.  It's never one thing for me.  Usually, a story inspiration is a mixture of different things for me.  I usually write them down as I go.

Me:  Cool!  Very interesting.  Can you tell us about any upcoming projects?  I know sometimes authors like to keep things hush hush, so only what you feel comfortable with telling us.

Ty:  There are several.  I wish there were more hours in the day to finish them.  First off, because I get asked a lot of question and I'm so pleased people love the series, there will be two more books in the CRAVE series, called "NEED" and "HUNGER".  *insert a high-pitched squeal from me here -- Val*  Due to a lot of day job work issues, I had to put work on this and an MMA series I'm working on hold for now.  But in the meantime, what I did for fun is write a bunch of very quick short vignette's, called "Craving a Bite", that feature the guys in some hot adventures.  Also, FYI, these stories are a prequel to CRAVE.  The first story is called "Open Mic Nite" and features a guitarist Sean McKinnon.  The next one is called, tentatively, "What Happens in Vegas", and features lead singer Cass St. Marie.  There's a third, also nearly complete, called "Still of the Night", and that story stars bassist Chace Lawson.  In September there will be another episode of Romantic Tales.  I'm also working on an ultra-secret project with Tigris Eden, which is something that our readers have never seen from either one of us before.

Me:  Ooooooh, I'm so excited!  Also, on a side note for the ladies...SEAN IS TAKEN!  He's MINE!  Just giving fair warning *wink*.  So, Ty, is there anything you would like to say to your (many) fans and my (few) readers?

Ty:  Thanks for all the support! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to do what I love to do.

Me:  Beautiful!  Thank you so much for joining me, dear!

Don't forget, dear readers, to check in again on Friday for a list of all books by Ty Langston, blurbs, and links to purchase them!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Love all,

Time To Meet TY LANGSTON!!!!

This is another of my girls. I've known her longer than any of the other authors featured this summer, except for Sally Slayer. She's AWESOME! So! Let's get to it!

As a child, multi-published author Ty Langston loved to read about dragons and knights so much that one day, her grandmother told her to "just write about them."
So she did.
From that day forward, she never left home without her pen, a notebook, and some kind of music playing in the background. Her love of reading expanded from fantasy into science fiction, and eventually into paranormal romance and erotica.
She enjoys different works from George Martin, Anne McCaffrey, Stephen King, and Jackie Collins. But some of Ty's favorite writers are from the world of TV and film: namely, Tudors creator Michael Hirst, and the late John Hughes.
Ty has a certificate in Broadcast Journalism along with a degree in Business Administration. She is single and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
She can be reached via her website at

So, now that you know a tiny bit about her, you wanna know more and be able to connect, right?  Well, I got your back!  Here are some ways to get in touch and keep up with what she's up to!

I had the chance to do a quick interview with Ty, be on the lookout Wednesday to read all about it!

Love you all!

My Interview with Bob Dixon

You know that bumbling thing I do where I ask questions and have someone cool answer them?  Yeah, I did that again, but with Bob this time!  Enjoy!

Me:  Here we go!  So Bob, I ask everyone this: What are your required props for a deep writing session? Certain drinks, snacks, music or quiet, etc.

Bob:  My writing sessions are pretty strange, even for me. I usually go through quite a few cups of coffee. I keep my internet browsers open and when I'm not sure what I'm doing next in the story I check my email. One of my favorite quotes is by Hemingway which is: write drunk edit sober. I think if you replace drunk with ‘wired on caffeine’ it would apply to most writers.

Me:  Coffee is the best thing on the planet, next to bacon!  So, What inspires you to write the stories you do?

Bob:  My imagination is always running 100 mph, I think of a concept or a character and go “wow that would be fun to write about” and I do, not so sure if it is an inspiration or not but I just want to tell my stories.

Me:  Very honest answer!  I always like to read stories when a character has led someone to write about them, they feel more engaging for me!  Do you have any other books in the works?

Bob:  I actually have contracts on 4 other titles right now, a little behind on editing (I hate editing).

Me:  Awesome!!!  What's your...I don't feel like 'method' is the right word, but as I can't think of the proper one right now, we'll go with it.  So what is your 'method' when writing?  Do you tend to write the ending of a story first and work back, skip around, what?

Bob:  Normally I start from the beginning , if I have a really cool idea for a chapter I may write it out of order but it’s just so much easier for me to write from the beginning.

Me:  I would have to agree with that.  I get myself confused all the time, so skipping around seems like a whole lot of trouble!!  Do you have anything you would like your fans and my readers to know?  Anything to say?

Bob:  Well first and foremost thank you for the support.  Needless to say without  our supporters, we are nothing. In most cases, especially with indie authors,  as thrilled as a fan may be to meet their favorite authors, the authors are as just as happy to meet them. I love talking about my books etc so anytime someone shows up and wants to discuss the characters or story with me naturally I'm happy to do so.

Me:  See?  Genuinely good guy!  Thank you, Bob, SO much for joinging me!  It has been a pleasure and an honor.  Remember, LINK DAY is coming on Friday, with covers, blurbs, and purchase links to Bob's wonderful tales.  Be safe, be blessed!

Introducing: Robert S. Fuller, Jr.

Robert S. Fuller, Jr. is the author of Valerie: Daughter of the Dragon.  Three guesses why I wanted to read it so badly, and the first two don't count!  Haha!  So here we goooooooooo!

Robert is an avid fan of the cultural history of vampires, which makes his debut, Valerie: Daughter of the Dragon, the perfect way to launch his writing career. Robert was born and raised in Northeast Ohio, at a time when television offered up late night showings of old horror movies. Not only did Robert gravitate towards the motion picture vampire, but also the vampires depicted in the writings of Stephen King, F. Paul Wilson, and Robert McCammon.
At 18 years old, Robert went to work at JC Penney's where he spent a decade in the Visual Display Department. Robert's love of vampires and working in the retail/fashion industry provided the inspiration to create his own vampire story. After several years of writing and re-writing, Valerie: Daughter of the Dragon was born.
When Robert isn't obsessing over his writing; he can be found taking in a movie, or two, or even three at his favorite local cinema, relaxing and listening to his extensive music collection, or cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Robert is a big sports fan, but prefers football and baseball to all other sports. His favorite pastime is participating as team owner and Commissioner of a fantasy football league.

Robert's other love is to spend time at the ocean. At least once a year, he and Jackie pack up and head to the warm relaxing beaches of South Carolina.

Interview With Tigris Eden

And now, for my bumbling excuse of an

I sat down and chatted with Tigris Eden, and here's what we talked about!

ME:    Do you have a planned number of books for the Shadow Unit series?

TIGRIS:    Yes, I'd like to see each member get their book and then of course Enri as well. So that would make 8 books total. I don't plan to go any further than that :)

ME:   Pardon me.  I just fangirled on myself...I love that idea, everyone getting their own full story!

ME:   How about Romantic Tales?  Do you have any idea how long you plan to continue writing those?  Or more like a "see how much I have going on at the time"?

TIGRIS:   Yeah, see how much I have going on at the time. I love RT, really do, have enjoyed writing with everyone, but I have other projects I need to flesh out and finish. I'm sure I will write something here or there. It's hard doing an episodic or serialized series, there are expectations. It can be quite overwhelming at times. But I'm glad to have had the experience.

ME:   I totally understand.  I know that you have a lot of different projects going on, and yet you somehow are able to find time to write these great episodes as well.  OMG, are you Super Woman????

TIGRIS:   Super Woman? Me? That's funny, I think there is an impostor, then, somewhere out in the universe. Tell her I want my cape back! In all honesty it feels like there just isn't enough time in the day. There are classes I want to take to, so I can perfect my craft but I'm either working on my stuff or RT... Something has to give and I have to roll with the flow... LOL

ME:   I got tired just reading that lol!  If I see her, I'll demand the cape back!   Okay, here's one I always ask: What are your special, deep writing things that you MUST have?

TIGRIS:   Oh I need my music. Need my space to be clutter free and lots of sticky notes. I think that makes for a very productive writing environment for me.  As I actually write everything down. LOL

ME:   You must have strong hands!  Mine get tired and sore when I write with a pen lol.

TIGRIS:   HEHE I don't think so. Maybe I never thought about it like that. It can be tiring as well. But when I write it out, I find that my thoughts don't get as jumbled. When I type I skip entire thoughts sometimes.

ME:   I know it's a long way off, but will Gen's story be continued past the book to be released in December?

TIGRIS:   Yes, Gen will have two more books :)

ME:   SQUEEEEE!  I LOVE that story!!!!!  And Adam, I love Adam, he's one of my book boyfriends now.

TIGRIS:   Awwwww thanks!  I love that story as well. It just came out of nowhere really!  You can blame Michele for that one. LOL I hadn't written anything for RT when we did the first season so I literally pulled that one out of my...magic bag of tricks...

ME:   HAAAHAHAHAHA!  On to Enslaved In Shadows!  Does it look like Draven's father, and the pack, will ever accept Jes?   PS, I LOVE his mother, my kinda woman!

TIGRIS:   :) Yeah Mara is the bomb!
She's like my real mom who I love so much!  She is a strong individual, and just so there is no mistake my real mom's name is Romona, LOL!  Had to give her a shout out! She's the strongest woman I know next to my sisters :)

So back to Antony and Jesminda, do they ever get along. I think so, but not all flower power and hugs. I think he will just accept Draven and Jes' relationship for what it is. Plus he loves his granddaughter. **Only spoiler for this series**  There will be a small mini novella or Shadow Reel if you will, that centers around the time after Draven returns :) I couldn't focus too too much on them in Burned, but they get their share of time in the book, and yes they get their HEA but I'd want to follow up with the after they hook up story :) So you will see a lot of pack mentality there.

ME:   Nice!!!!  Okay, last question:  Can you tell a little bit about your upcoming work?  Maybe titles and the premise?

TIGRIS:   Hmmmmm where to start....

There are a lot of projects that I'd like to work on.... But I will drop three down that will happen over the course of the next year and half.....

There is The Relationship, which is a contemporary romance and that is based on two people who started out together but find that maybe just maybe they are not meant to be together. But then again maybe they are. *winks*

ME:   Oooooh!  That sounds great!

TIGRIS:   Then there is Arctic Bound, which is a PNR Erotic Romance with some light bondage.  Werewolves in Alaska yo! And a Mob Boss daughter on the run LOL :)

ME:   My kind of story!

TIGRIS:   And finally I'm plotting out my first official.... IR aka Interracial Romance.  All my other stories feature Bi-racial females, so they are more multicultural I think.... I don't know, the lines are kind of grey with IR and multicultural, but anyway the title is Blurred Lines and its basically two families, who are both on the wrong side of the tracks, but think their son and daughter don't belong together. They are middle class working family and well, there are just a lot of things they go through to get to the happy happy sunshine :)

ME:  Love it!!!  Thank you SO much for putting up with my blundering around!  I cannot wait for Burned (or any of your other works lol).

TIGRIS:  Thank you!

So there you have it! Remember to check out the earlier post from Monday, and tune in again on Friday to recap all of those links! Love you all, have a great hump-day!
